ALAN HILL

City's Assistant Manager had a short playing career, starting as a goalkeeper at Barnsley and
moving to Tommy Docherty's Rotherham before joining Nottingham Forest in 1969. In the 1970-71
season he broke his arm in four places and that ended his playing days. He then became the Youth
Team Coach at Forest and during his 25-year spell with the club, also served as Youth Development Officer,
Chief Scout, Assistant Manager and General Manager before resigning to follow Frank Clark to Maine Road.
"My brief is to come in and look at the whole situation and also to try to bring
in new players for certain positions. Our success at Forest was based on being a family club
and we really need to create that sort of atmosphere at City," said Hill shortly after his appointment.
