Javier Garrido is a spanish footballer who was born 15 March 1985 in Irun, Basque Country, Spain. Capped at U-21 level for his country, he started out with Valencia and Real Sociedad before joining Manchester City on 2 August 2007. The Spanish outfit had just dropped down from the top flight and decided to cash in on the promising left back. City was able to secure his signature in a £1.5m deal and Javier signed a 4 year contract keeping him at the club until 2011. He made his debut on 11 August against West Ham Utd. and kept off the challenge from experienced left back Michael Ball who was suspended for the opening games.
