TRUE BLUE STORIESWHY BLUE
This I blame mainly on my Father and big brother who guided me into the ways of Manchester City F.C. My first match I can't actually remember very well, if my memory surves me well it was Aston Villa vs the blues in the '80/'81 season, naturally we lost 1-0 I think. My first real match was the season before we came back up from the old division 2, away at West Brom, Tony Adcock scoring a late winner. I call this my first real match because it was the first time I went to a match on my own and also the first time I had stood up at a match. From the moment that goal went in to the present day I have been a hardcore City fan. The number of matches I have attended has increased with age and at the present time (despite living in Birmingham and going to University in Hull) I am a season ticket holder ( Kippax Lower Tier ). I also received a small number of shares in M.C.F.C. my 21st birthday. The best match I have been to, no doubt THE 5-1, what a day for City, what a day for all the Blues around the world. The memory of Andy Hinchcliffe running along the Kippax signalling 5 on his hand will stay with me forever. It is becoming increasingly more and more difficult to be a true blue these days, but the faith never faulters, and no matter what happens I'll keep the blues flag flying. |
